Two tattoo artists who wanted to open an upscale salon in Newhall say they believe the city has stalled their project in the hopes they’ll go away.
And co-owners Robert Atkinson and Danielle Oberosler, who have since opened a salon in Granada Hills, say the tactic — if there is such — has very nearly worked.
“They sandbagged us,” Atkinson said. “They haven’t actually denied us.”
He said a series of postponements and the uncertaintainty of the end result dissuaded the duo from forking out $1,800 a month for rent on a space they might never occupy.
