Shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday, a big r-g slammed into a car stopped in traffic on the Southbound lanes of the 14 at the Truck Route connector to the 5, shutting down the truck route for several hours…. 

Several parties were taken to Henry Mayo Hospital for treatment, but there were no serious injuries. 

Shortly before that wreck, there was a separate unrelated accident in the Northbound lanes of the 14 near Escondido Canyon Road in which a truck carrying a load of bricks, sand and cement, spilled its load.
