Scores of individuals who made Oak Hills Elementary School a reality assembled Friday to dedicate the Newhall School District’s 10th school and to symbolically lay the cornerstone and time capsule. While scores of high-level officials gathered on the stage and sat in the forefront of the school’s auditorium, it was the students who commanded the podium as they delivered introductions, gave speeches and led songs. Their ease before an audience of about 700 led Greg McWilliams, president of The Newhall Land and Farming Co., to express his amazement at their sophistication at such young ages.
