The Way Out Recovery Hour – September 18, 2017
Listen in as Bob Sharits welcomes Matt Hinze, Vice Principal at Sierra Vista Junior High School located right here in Santa Clarita. Tune in to hear Bob and Matt Hinze discuss all of the great work being done to combating student drug use.
“Just because we aren’t hearing about these overdoses on a regular basis does not mean that the drug epidemic is not alive and well,” Bob on an apparent overdose over the weekend. “I always take it as an opportunity to open up a dialogue with my kids, whenever there is a tragedy I use it as an opportunity to talk to my kids.”
“Thankfully it’s not a major portion of my day having to deal with it, but it is really nice to have these tools…and these programs,” Matt Hinzie on communist assistance dealing with student drug use.
“Statistics say even with the changing attitude around marijuana use…even with that statistics say roughly 25% of students will try it by their senior year,” Bob on student drug use.
“Your kids are living an entirely different world that you don’t even realize unless you see what they are doing online,” Matt Kinze on the impact social media has on students.
