Cary Quashen and Bob Sharits simply could not hold back their excitement for their guests, Lisa Front and Anne Front of the Palliative Care Unit in Henry Mayo Hospital. Many people may not realize what palliative care is or how integral it can be for a patient’s recovery. Lisa and Anne broke down the differences between hospice care and palliative care, and basically explained that hospice care is reserved for those patients where terminal conditions are imminent. Palliative care can still be used for terminal patients, but methods like chemotherapy for instance, is not an example of palliative care. Palliative care is focused on a reliving pain and creative support to give strength to their patients.
