Life Leadership with Alex Urbina – December 08, 2014
On today’s show, Host Alex Urbina sits down with SCVIP (Santa Clarita Valley International Program) and SCVi Charter School and discusses their recent trip to India. About what they learned and the experiences they took away.
SVCIP and SCVi Charter was able to take 20 Santa Clarita locals to experience another country. One thing that we noticed right away was that they accept others right away and with open arms.
The little things that are different were surprising but were great to learn, SCVi learners said
Cricket is one thing that I took away, a SCVi Learner said. It was great to learn about a different sports and I even bought a bat to take home.
When I was in school we learned about India from books, and actually going there was something I never thought about.
We are always telling our facilitators to get out of the classroom as much as they can and experience the real world and not just from books, SCVi director and SCVIP board member Amber Raskin said.
