On this episode of the BalaCore Fitness Show, Ellen is on Part II of her new series [Parlay Fit] for women going through menopause. With inflammation being huge for not only just women struggling with menopause but also anyone who wants to live their healthiest life, Ellen lists several foods and active ingredients that cause inflammation and should be avoided. On the other hand, Ellen gives a list of tons of foods that are great for anti-inflammation including vitamin-b foods that aid in sleep and omega-3 foods that aid in overall health.
Foods that cause inflammation
Hydrogenated oils, sugars, white bread, animal fats, alcohol, omega-6 fatty acids, milk, msg, gluten
Anti-inflammatory foods
Almonds, apple-vinegar, apricots, asparagus, avocado, basil, bell peppers, black beans, blueberries, bok choi, broccoli, brussel sprouts, carrots, caullifower, celery, cinnamon, cucumber, curry powder, dark chocolate, eggs, extra virgin olive oil, grapefruit, kelp kiwi, lemons, limes, oats, onions, oranges, papaya, pineapple, pumpkin, quinoa, red wine, salmon, shrimp, spinach, tomatoes, turkey, turnips, zucchini
Certain vitamin-b rich and omega-3 rich foods that are great are whole, unprocessed foods like lean meat and poultry, liver, whole grains and lentils are all rich in B vitamins; omega-3 rich oily fish (salmon, tuna, sardines), quinoa and seeds are all great things to add into your diet.
