Total Financial Solutions Safer Money Hour With Arif Halaby – February 3, 2015
Hour 1 – To start the show Arif Halaby and Jeff Girard spoke about priorities when it comes to saving money. Arif suggests that you keep an emergency account in case of just that, an emergency. In those accounts Arif suggests putting 6 months of expenses in that account if you are an employee or a year of expenses if you are self employed.
They also went over different accounts that could be used for this emergency account, 401k, Roth IRA, college accounts and more. Listen to the whole show to here all of the helpful tips.
Hour 2 – For the second hour of the program Arif and Jeff spoke about inherited IRA Programs. These are IRAs that are inherited after a loved one passes away. They explain that it can be very complicated and suggest that you seek the help of a professional.
Arif and Jeff also gave some tips on what to do if you plan on leaving your kids some money. Some things they mentioned was setting up a trust and make sure that they are educated when it comes to money management.
