Received 100% rating from CalChamber for the second year in a row

Each year, CalChamber produces a list of job creator and job killer bills in policy areas such as environmental regulations, health care costs, labor costs, litigation costs, taxes, water supply and reliability. Members get a point for voting in accord with the Chamber and lose a point for voting against.

The scorecard bills and votes reflect legislator attitudes towards private enterprise, fiscal responsibility and business climate.

This last legislative session was a missed opportunity to grow the economy. While we did pass a film tax credit and aerospace tax credit, we should have done more.  We failed to address CEQA reform, the rising costs of workers compensation or tort reform. I’m committed to fight for small businesses which employ two out of every three workers.

Celebrating the completion of the McBean Bridge Widening and Bike Path Project

The McBean Bridge Widening and Bike Path Project included the widening of the McBean Parkway Bridge to eight lanes to improve traffic flow, the addition of a raised landscaped median and asphalt improvements. The project also added a dedicated bike path on the bridge to connect the Santa Clara River Trail and the South River Trail, and added a trail connection beneath the north side of the bridge to connect the east and west portions of the Santa Clara River Trail.
