Steve Churm serves as the Chief Communications Officer for FivePoint and is responsible for overseeing the company’s communications externally and internally. Churm has more than 35 years of media and communications experience as a journalist, business owner, and media executive in California.
Most recently, Churm served as Chief Revenue Officer at Freedom Communications, where he led the print and digital sales operations. He also led the Freedom Custom Content and Digital Freedom advertising units and was responsible for Freedom’s corporate communications and the revenue for its Spanish-language media platforms and more than 20 community weekly papers.
Prior to Freedom, Churm founded Churm Media in 1990, a Newport Beach-based media company whose print publications and websites served 1.5 million readers per month prior to its acquisition by Freedom in 2012.
Churm is a respected leader within the media industry regionally and nationally and currently serves on four nonprofit boards: Orange County Business Council, The Values Institute, Orange County United Way, and Global Grins.
