Next, upon The Mom Show, Francine Michelle visits the studio to sit down with Kristen and discuss not only her company Video Baby Books but also the world of momtrepreneurs and how this local mom became her own boss.

Find out more about how Francine can do more than just document your baby, but bring their infancy to life for you to enjoy for years to come.

Francine also gives some great tips on capturing your children’s moments

1. Don’t stress about getting everything the first time, their 3rd and 4th steps will look the same as their 1st and 2nd.

2.  Film in “Landscape” or Horizontal perspective on your phone.

3. Don’t film into the sun.

4. Write a letter to your child before they are born.

About Video Baby Book:

I am an award-winning Filmmaker with a passion for telling stories. I studied directing at the University of Michigan and first came to Los Angeles in 2001 with the intent of directing theatre. Soon realizing that I would have to find another way to make a living, my focus turned towards teaching acting and directing the film. I have taught acting since 2002 and have worked with actors of all ages.
My feature film debut, Desertion, took home the top feature award at the Valley Film Festival and is currently available on Amazon. In addition to the narrative form, I have also worked for many years filming weddings, live bands, music videos, stage plays, and various documentary style projects for creatives throughout Los Angeles, including Ice T and the making of his album, Black Ice, Urban Legends.

Despite all of my professional accomplishments, my most challenging role was when I became a mom to Xander.  As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I became conscious of everything I put in my body and on it, determined to be organic for the both of us.  I questioned everything and researched online, in books, and watched documentaries. The Business of Being Born motivated me to have a completely natural childbirth while Ina May Gaskin inspired me to go with my instincts. I received amazing support from my Doula Dahlia and I was able to have the natural birth I wanted. I became a baby wearing, co-sleeping, extended breastfeeding and attachment parenting advocate.  Of all my photos, the black and white image above is the one I am most proud of. I captured it in the hospital on his second day of life with only the bathroom light as a source, it has not been cropped or retouched in any way…Read More.
