Hour 1 – The first hour opened with Jeff introducing the topic of life insurance and how it should be used to fill the gap for spouses when one passes. It is important to view life insurance as supplemental income. Arif and Jeff then discussed how this ties into using pensions, and what people can expect from taking different percentages out of it. There are ways to buy life insurance policies that can be left to beneficiaries tax-free, ensuring money for great grandchildren’s college education etc.
Hour 2 – In the second hour Arif and Jeff break down the ins and outs of auto insurance, as it can be very complicated (insurance jargon, etc). It is important to remember that driving a car is not a right, hence insurance. Arif told a horror story he experienced with auto insurance companies where the body work for an accident he was involved in was billed double what it should have been. Umbrella insurance is another tool that can be used at a higher level to cover all of your household insurances.
