Hour 1 – On today’s show Arif and Jeff are giving their tried and true steps to take when planning for retirement, especially the first ten or so years when expenditures can surely add up. The guys list things such as living below your means and finding a comfortable part-time job to supplement your changing lifestyle. Medical expenses, grandchildren, or a leaky roof, there are several things that can come up that you must be mindful of. They also urge listeners to be in regular communication with your home and auto insurance carriers (at least every 6 months) so that proper adjustments are made and you aren’t overpaying.
Hour 2 – Arif and Jeff see it every week, all the time: parents have trouble dealing with their adult children when it comes to financial responsibility on their behalf. It gets so bad at times, that helping out financially with children can set back parents retirement plans up to ten years! Arif stresses the importance of building character through struggling financially, you have to struggle at times to understand what it takes to succeed at life.
