Topic: Youth Grove Evening of Remembrance
Guests: Alice and Tom Renolds
The Santa Clarita community is invited to come together for the 11th anniversary of the annual Evening of Remembrance for the city of Santa Clarita’s Youth Grove, an area where friends and families can remember young lives lost from traffic collisions.
Families in Action: August 29, 2016
Every year, young people are killed in car crashes across Santa Clarita Valley. Whether it is just reckless driving or if alcohol or drugs are involved. 102 children or teens have lost their lives since the Youth Grove has been taking place annually.
Now in its eleventh year, the Youth Grove Evening of Remembrance is a place where friends, family and all members of the community can come and mourn and, simply, remember.
On this episode of Families in Action, Alice and Tom share their painful story of their two sons who were killed in a car crash on Soledad Canyon.
“The Youth Grove is set up at Central Park … this is our eleventh year. It was built by Blue Ribbon Task Force.” – Alice Renolds
