During the week of March 27rd, 2006, the KHTS Community Resource Station hosted the Boys and Girls Club of the Santa Clarita Valley and was featured on the KHTS Non-Profit Spotlight, with Janice Murray which is sponsored by Valencia Acura. Bryan Lake, Clifton Patterson and Samantha Schmidt, representatives from the Newhall Park branch talked about the Boys and Girls club many resources and activities that are available for our Santa Clarita youth.

Since 1968, the Boys and Girls club of Santa Clarita has continued to be a vital resource for our youth. Formed by a group of community leaders who saw a need for a place where kids could go for affordable high-end recreation programs, the organization has come a long way since, servicing approximately 1,600 kids and teens at the club locations in Newhall at Newhall Park and the facility in Canyon Country, on the campus of Sierra Vista Junior High School. There is also a smaller satellite club in Val Verde.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Santa Clarita Valley is a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, an organization with more than 3,000 clubs nationwide. Our local club is independently governed by a board of directors comprised of outstanding leaders in the community.
