Realty Executives is not leaving the area, executives told KHTS Tuesday. Instead, they are moving to another Canyon Country building, although they do not have a forwarding address prepared yet.

The business, which has been operating out of Canyon Country since 1991, was told by the building’s landlord that a Starbucks would be taking over the location in the coming months. While no timeline was provided, employees were told to prepare for a move.

The clock outside the building has shown the time, temperature and Realty Executives logo for at least 15 years, officials said. But if a new tenant moves in, they may have the option to take the landmark down.

No tenant has formally announced that they will take over the corner building after Realty Executives leaves, but coffee chain Starbucks is a likely candidate.

Starbucks employees working at a Canyon Country location, who were not authorized to speak publicly on any potential moves, said officials have been eyeing the corner lot for a long time.

The Starbucks corporate office declined to publicly say they would move in, or even confirm if there had been any interest in the location.

“Starbucks is always looking for great locations to better meet the needs of our customers and we are continually evaluating our store portfolio,” said a spokeswoman for the company. “At this time, we remain focused on serving customers in Santa Clarita at our existing stores and have no store-opening plans to announce.”

  1. PITIFUL!!! there is one across the street already. Just a SAD state of affairs for this “CORPORATE” owned town…CITY

  2. Should that famous CC landmark be removed, I will miss it as much as I miss my former wife, the wart I had removed, my former neighbors constantly barking dog and DJT, if he is thrown out of office.

  3. I love that clock ! How will I know the temperature now ?!! I saw a rendering of the possible Starbucks and their clock but it’s too low . I’m sure they would close the existing store across the street and move to a bigger location if it happens. And some of us that live nearby hope not because of more traffic issues especially when it comes to getting our kids to school.

  4. I don’t recall the business that occupied the Realty Executives building prior to them moving in, but the clock was out for an extended period of time. It is my understanding that Realty Executives paid for the repairs and maintenance of this clock. Thank you for maintaining this Canyon Country landmark.

  5. Wasn’t it a Wells Fargo before it was Reality Exe.?
