SCV Disaster Coalition Wins CESAs Silver Medal

California Emergency Services Association presents Silver Medal to Santa Clarita Disaster Coalition and City of Santa Clarita’s, Donna Nuzzi.

The Santa Clarita Disaster Coalition www.scvcoalition.com, received a Silver Medal from the California Emergency Services Association, Southern Chapter for the work done during Hurricane Katrina.

The Coalition established a Valleywide book drive in April, collecting over 97,000 books for six elementary schools in Houma, Louisiana devasted by Hurricane Rita.

KHTS owner, Carl Goldman accepted the award on behalf of the coalition.

Donna Nuzzi, Director of Emergency Services for the City of Santa Clarita, also received a Silver Medal for the work she has been doing for the region.

The award ceremony was held on Friday at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley.
