The animal was found by Los Angeles County Animal Control officials near the intersection of Via Vista and Via Solano on Oct. 30.

However, you should never attempt to capture or touch a wild bat.”
The best way to ensure rabies safety for animals who may not be as cautious as people, they said, is ensuring pets are up to date on their rabies vaccines.
Any sick or dead bats should be reported to the Castaic Animal Shelter at 661-257-3191.
