Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce officials, along with the SCV Latino Business Alliance, have begun their joint preparations for the 7th Annual Hispanic Heritage Gala to award members for their success and service in the community.

The event is designed to unify the Santa Clarita Valley, according to Karen Scott, the chamber’s director of operations and events.
“The main purpose of putting on this event is to acknowledge and award those who are involved with the Latino community within the Santa Clarita Valley,” said Scott. “With the title ‘We Are One,’ what we are really promoting is, ‘We are one community coming together to celebrate the community as a whole.”
Several Santa Clarita businesses were nominated to be considered for four awards separated into categories facilitated by the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Carlos Quintana y Su Sonora is scheduled to perform a playlist consisting of a variety of Latin musical genres, such as cumbia, salsa and merengue.
In addition to the musical entertainment, dinner is set to be provided and guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy an award ceremony where nominees will be recognized.
The winners will be announced at the event in front of members of the community and other local businesses of the Santa Clarita Valley.
Santa Clarita residents are invited to attend the event at the Newhall Family Theater for Performing Arts, located at Newhall Elementary School, on Saturday, Sept. 8.
Doors open for the event at 7 p.m.; however, those interested in attending the event will have the option to purchase VIP tickets to enjoy a reception that is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
