The expo was held inside of the Golden Valley High School gymnasium, which was lined with exhibitors from all over the valley, such as Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, Safety Town Santa Clarita and various school districts.

“This event is to show families what the Santa Clarita community has to offer,” said Cheryl Jones, Child and Family Center’s vice president of marketing and community outreach.

The event has grown in size tremendously since the first year, quickly outgrowing their old home in the Santa Clarita Sports Complex, said Jones.

Over 100 exhibitors showcased their products or services for kids. From sports to karate, dance to art, gymnastics to books and tutors, kids and parents discovered the activities available for kids in the community.

The Kids Expo also featured Cherry, the mini horse, who performed tricks for the children in attendance.

The event was hosted by Child and Family Center which offers mental health and behavioral services to over 700 children and adults each week.

The agency has grown into a provider of comprehensive prevention, early intervention, diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic services for children, teens, adults and families who live in the Santa Clarita Valley.

“We have services for the whole family,” said Jones. “This event helps us raise money, and expand our reach in the community.”
