Assemblyman Scott Wilk will be recognizing a Small Business of the Month in his District to honor those businesses that have been at least 3 years in operation, bring a positive activity to the city, outstanding business practices and give back to their community, according to a news release.

Assemblyman Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, announced this week California Bakery & Café as the 38th Assembly District Small Business of the Month.

Owned by Augustin Prieto, the 24-hour bakery has been serving Santa Clarita for over 14 years and donates to local schools and nonprofit organizations frequently.

“We appreciate the office of Assemblyman Wilk recognizing that we are involved in the community,” said Augustin. “The number one thing I try to do is invest in our youth because they are our future, it’s important to get involved.”

The Small Business of the Month Program honors and recognizes local small business that give back to local nonprofit organizations, hire locally, and promote overall growth and invest in the community.

“What is most remarkable is their enthusiasm to give back to our community,” said Assemblyman Wilk of California Bakery & Café. “Whether it is donating to local schools, nonprofits, or providing food for the Sand Fire emergency crews, their generosity has had a profound impact all over the community.”
