The 10th Annual Amgen Tour of California professional cycling race began in Sacramento Sunday morning to kick off eight days of racing.

The first race day will feature 18 world-class teams competing over eight days across 724 miles of California’s most scenic highways, roadways and coastlines, began and will end at the foot of the State Capitol building in Sacramento Sunday, May 10.
Stage one is the longest of the eight-stage race at 123 miles.
In addition, the 14 world-class women’s professional teams will conclude their three-day stage race with an exciting circuit race in Sacramento.
The Amgen Tour of California Women’s Race Stage three is designed to let the sprinters come out to play.
This flat and fast two-mile circuit has been used as a men’s finish circuit on multiple occasions, including this year.
The climbers and their teams will have to hold onto the sprinters as they fight for the stage win and the many time bonuses that could vault them up the overall standings.
The Men’s Race started in Sacramento at 11 a.m. and will finish stage one around 3:45 p.m.
The Women’s stage three race began at 11:15 a.m. and will be finishing around 12:45 p.m.
