Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies are investigating a possible assault, after a concerned citizen helped deputies track down a man who appeared to have been beaten, but didn’t know how it happened.

Santa Clarita Sheriff’s and LAPD are investigating a shooting involving an off-duty police officer in Canyon Country Sunday morning.

On Sunday, March 29, 2015, at approximately 10:12 am an off duty LAPD officer was involved in a shooting with a suspect at the corner of Swallow Lane and Rainbow Glen Drive in the Canyon Country area of Santa Clarita.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect is currently being detained for questioning regarding his involvement with a possible Assault with a Deadly Weapon incident.

The suspect is cooperating with law enforcement and the investigation ongoing.
