College of the Canyons and Jay Nolan Community Services have partnered to help bring job training to autistic adults in the Santa Clarita Valley.

A unique open house for high functioning autistic individuals and their families to learn about specialized job training is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the College of the Canyons University Center, located at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road.
The program, “Uniquely Abled Academy,” is the only one of its kind in the area and provides high functioning autistic individuals with the training needed to take on a manufacturing career utilizing innovative CNC (computer numerical control) machining.
“This is an incredible job training program that facilitates opportunities for special needs individuals to have careers in manufacturing,” said Jeff Strully, Executive Director for Jay Nolan Community Services.
