The women were captured, and stolen goods recovered, after the store owner for one Ulta Beauty contacted the owners of the other locations, according to Detectives Bureau officials, a practice that greatly helps prevent theft.

Beverly Sharkey, 55; Dawn Simmons, 49; and Shyan Coleman, 18, of Los Angeles, were arrested Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. near an Ulta Beauty store in Northridge.

The suspects were spotted stealing from the Valencia location, and a store employee there notified the other locations, including Burbank, Northridge and West Hills.

Burbank and Los Angeles police department officers were put on alert by the store, and while the women apparently entered the Burbank location without incident, they were later caught at the Northridge store, where LAPD officers were able to arrest the suspects.

More than $1,000 in merchandise was recovered from the suspects, according to officials, which led to a grand theft charge for the women.

Detectives suspect the stores might have been specifically targeted, but the alleged crimes are still under investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the reporting of a non-emergency crime situation is asked to call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.
