Each year Allbright 1-800-PAINTING asks the community to nominate either a family or a nonprofit organization in need of painting services to receive a donation of up to $10,000 worth of free painting supplies and services.

This year’s winner was Bridge to Home, a nonprofit organization that helps individuals and families in Santa Clarita transition out of homelessness by acting as an emergency shelter, case management center and medical clinic, while also assisting in housing navigation.

“It further supports that Santa Clarita is a very giving and supportive community” said Chris Majarro, director of programs of Bridge to Home.  “We’re grateful (to the) paint company for providing the makeover.”

As the primary homeless care service provider in the Santa Clarita Valley, the access center on Newhall Ave. is often overcrowded with clients and staff members, resulting in the need for an additional Bridge to Home office space in the same shopping center.

The commercial and residential painting contractor offered to paint Bridge to Home’s office annex this week, with paint donated by Behr Paint.

While waiting for a more permanent facility — which will be built on Drayton Street — the new paint job and furniture donations from local businesses will help Bridge to Home function as efficiently as possible.

“It shows that we care about our clients, by providing a refreshed look which is more welcoming,” Majarro said. “Thanks to Allbright 1-800-PAINTING we are able to do that and provide a bright work space for our clients.”

Paint-It-Forward has provided over $1,000,000 worth of free paint and materials to deserving families and nonprofits across the U.S. and Canada.
