The chase began at about 4:30 p.m. on Newhall Ranch Road after Sheriff’s deputies attempted to pull the suspect over for driving a stolen vehicle.

The driver reportedly collided with two vehicles during the pursuit. Injuries are unknown at this time for the hit-and-run incidents, according to authorities.

The driver reportedly reached speeds of over 70 miles per hour, swerving in-and-out of lanes, said officials.

The suspect fled the vehicle near Bouquet Canyon Road and Alamogordo Road leading deputies on a foot pursuit through Saugus.

Sheriff’s deputies detained one individual near Santa Clarita Central Park, said Lt. Ignacio Samoano of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
