The Academy of the Canyons, in association with Project Linus, will be hosting “Make a Blanket Day” Oct. 7 in a community effort to knit blankets to distribute to families who currently live in shelters.

Canyon Country Heats Up With Summer Bash

Community members don’t need to travel far to get a taste of the beach as city of Santa Clarita officials are set to host the third annual Summer Bash block party Friday, according to news release from city officials.

“Summer Bash is a great opportunity to come together in Canyon Country, celebrate summer and a have a good time,” said Mayor Bob Kellar. “People of all ages love the activities and live music offered, making it one of the city’s most popular events.”

Residents can attend from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Canyon Country on Luther Drive, between Soledad Canyon Road and Mandan Street.

The beach-themed event features family-friendly fun with food trucks and entertainment provided by the local cover band Rebel Heart.

A mechanical shark, 20-foot Kraken-themed dual slide, an inflated tropical obstacle course and 20-foot rock wall are just a few of the activities that are planned for the event.

Adults are set to have a chance to enjoy a beer garden provided by Route 66 Classic Grill.
