Santa Clarita resident Michael McGlothan, 53, was seen in court Tuesday. He is charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.

McGlothan is due back in court November 3.

He’s accused of killing Ledarion Allen Jr., 21, of Lancaster, in a Canyon Country apartment in May of 2015 and also injuring Shatari Shene Cooks, 30, with a gunshot wound.

The shooting took place on the 25700 block of Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita. Officials said Cooks was in stable condition the day after the shooting.

McGlothan was arrested in June 2015, after leading authorities on a nationwide search which ended in less than a month.

He was found and arrested near a highway toll booth on the New York State Thruway in western New York, according to a statement from the New York Police Department’s Buffalo office.

McGlothan is identified as the main suspect in the case, along with two accomplices also sought for questioning.

McGlothan is being held at the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles with a $3,030,000 bail.

  1. He’s a Loser if that’s al he could do we should change the laws a deport his whole family he indefinite should remain locked up for the rest of his life.
