Deputies are still looking to for the driver of the sedan that smashed into three other cars around 1 a.m., near the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Sierra Highway.

Officials did not release a specific description of the driver, but said the vehicle involved was possibly a blue Chrysler 300.

“I had heard him burning tires and everything,” said Nicole Jackson, 20, who was pinned in between two cars.

She noticed the car while walking to 7-11 with some friends, she said.

Then, the next thing she remembered was the car speeding towards her, she said. She tried running to the sidewalk to avoid the crash as she heard the approaching vehicle.

“He started heading straight forward,” she said, “he hit the three cars in front… so I got pinned.”

Sheriff’s Station officials confirmed details from Jackson’s account, and that deputies are looking for the suspect.

“It was an individual in what appeared to be a blue Chrysler,” said Sgt. Timothy Vander Leek of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, explaining officials are investigating the collision as a hit-and-run case. “The vehicle was last seen travelling eastbound (on Soledad Canyon Road).”

Jackson was relieved that she wasn’t seriously injured as soon as the crash was over, she said.

“(When) I tried pulling myself out, I could feel my feet,” Jackson said. “It wasn’t a hard hit.”

Two men had tried pulling Jackson out, but had to wait until emergency responders arrived on scene to move the two vehicles apart.

After being pulled out, Jackson realized she could still walk, and was not hurt.

No transports to the hospital were necessary, according to Los Angeles County Fire officials.

The incident also served as a reminder about the importance of being especially vigilant in parking lots, she said.

“Just watch out, he’s still on the run,” said Jackson. “Check your surroundings — I would’ve never expected that … always be aware.”
