The event is set to take place on Friday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Carousel Ranch has brought together 21 teams and 106 players for the Charity Shoot, a competition that engages participants in a “golf tournament” style shooting competition, according to officials.

The event typically raises about $30,000 for direct support of the Carousel Ranch programs, according to Carousel Ranch Executive Director Denise Redmond.

“The spirit of the day is always incredible.” Redmond said. “After all, what better way to spend a Friday morning than at the range, with good friends – raising money for the kids at Carousel Ranch.”

In the last year, the Charity Shoot has been held at the Moore N’ Moore Sporting Clays in Sylmar, a shooting range that burned to the ground only a handful of months ago.

“After Moore N’ Moore being literally burned to the ground in the December 5th Creek Fire, holding the event there this year (the second year) is all the more special.” Redmond said in a news release. “The facility is rebuilt and as beautiful as ever, literally rising from the ashes to help raise money for Carousel Ranch.”

Carousel Ranch, Inc. assists children with disabilities through both equestrian therapy and vocational training programs, according to the company website.

Enrolled shooters range from experienced marksmen to men and women who have never held a gun, according to the news release.

Teams are competing for trophies, titles and prizes to be awarded during the scheduled lunch at 1 p.m., according to officials.

Teams must rotate between 14 ranges throughout the day to compete in shooting range competitions. One competition is designed to be held off of the back of a large “rocking horse” Redmond said.

In between ranges, competitors will be provided games such as giant Jenga, cornhole, and even massages according to the news release.

The event is to be held at Moore N’ Moore Sporting Clays, 12651 North Little Tujunga Canyon Road, Sylmar, CA 91342.

Enrollment has ended and teams have been set, Redmond added.
