Robert Danielson, 30, of Castaic, is expected to face 18 years when he’s sentenced next month in the death of Nicole Medina.

Danielson is accused of beating Nicole Medina and causing her death, nearly a year ago, at the home the two shared at the Paradise Ranch Mobile Home Park in Castaic.

He pleaded guilty March 3, according to officials, and is expected to be sentenced April 12.

Danielson was arrested Oct. 24, 2015, by Palmdale Sheriff’s Station deputies, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arrest records. He’s due in court to start hearings on his trial Dec. 5.

Law enforcement officials believe the two began fighting at the Wing Stop, and at some point, as the husband and wife were passengers in a car, and Medina was thrown from the vehicle. During the fall is when authorities suspect she received the fatal blow.

There was later a physical confrontation between the two, officials said, and Medina was found unresponsive in her home, along with her two children. She was rushed to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital where officials believe she died from injuries sustained earlier in the day during the confrontation.

Coroner’s officials ruled the cause of death  as a blunt force trauma to the head.

The two were married last June and had two children together, according to  GoFundMe page created by relatives.

“Coco was the sweetest, most giving individual.  Her smile entered a room before she did, and her laughter filled every moment with joy.  She loved her family and friends, but most of all, her children were her life.  She lived every moment to make them happy.  She was a stay at home mom, dedicating herself to the wellbeing of her babies,” according to the page. “Coco has now joined her father, Nick Medina, in Heaven.  She is survived by her mother, Stacy Curtis, her sisters, Amber Gideon and Desiree Smith, her Uncle, Jerry Curtis, her Grandmother, Jackie Thomson and her two sweet babies, Kayden and Presley.”

  1. He beat her, threw her from a car, and the domestic violence continued! I sincerely doubt that this was the first instance of violence @ his hands!
Why plea down to possibly 18 years? You won your case, DA.
And people have no faith in the “justice system!” Wonder why?

  2. This article was poorly written. She was found unresponsive in her home, along with her two children. Were here children unresponsive? She received a fatal blow when thrown from the car. Dang, I could write a better article than this person did.

  3. There is so much misinformation in this article. So much for responsible journalism.

  4. This article is rediculously inaccurate. I guess if the author can’t do the simple math that October 24, 2015 was a year and half ago and not “nearly a year ago” why should I expect him to get any of the other facts correct.

  5. Couldn’t agree more with the two earlier commentators. What degree of murder did he plead to? Only 18 years for the mother of two small children who are forever mentally injured.

  6. This is my sister an not happy about this post. I really wish the people that write these come to the family an ask what’s goin on bc most of this is bs. My sister’s kids one day might read this an it’s not OK for them to see the lies people say about this.

  7. I am writing in shock and outrage that this man, Robert Danielso, could throw Nicole (Coco), his wife and the mother of his two little children, from a moving car and then beat her to death in their home, and be sentenced to only 18 years! Is this the best our judicial system can do to honor the worth of the mother of two little children? I know, absolutely, that if Coco was wealthy her attorney would have seen to it that the district attorney prevailed to give the murderer, a wife beater, more years in prison. All who knew Coco were aware that her husband, Robert, beat her on more than this one occasion.

  8. Coco was my neice by marriage. We don’t go down like punks. I remember when Nicole was like when Nicole was little she used to go outside and play and she come in looking like a little boy her hair was short and she was just dirty as hell Amber if you need anything you call me and I promise you before I leave this earth her death will be vengeant I will give them to understand that I’ve been out of the picture for a minute but I loved Nicole and I love you and you may not remember me but I’m here. 661-754-4387
