Castaic Union School District Set To Start The School Year With Inspirational Speaker

Castaic Union School District officials announces plans to start the school year off with an inspirational speech from author and speaker Tyler Durman as part of the district’s “welcome back” events.

Durman’s speech will focus on inspiring parents to be more encouraging and engage with their children in a way which helps them to reach their fullest potential and be successful.

The speech is titled “What 4 Million Teenagers Wish We Knew,” based on his book “Counterintuitive.”

The event is set to take place on Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 5 p.m. at Castaic Middle School, located at 28900 Hillcrest Parkway.

A “Grilled Hot Dog Dinner with Castaic Families” is expected to take place from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., followed by the actual speech from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and a question-and-answer portion.

Parents are required to RSVP for the event online by Friday, Aug. 10 at 4 p.m.

Free childcare activities will be provided on behalf of the Castaic Union School District during the speaking portion.  

Faculty and staff members will also have an opportunity to hear Durman speak during the District’s “Welcome Back Breakfast.”
