The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce, a business networking organization, is looking to hire a new CEO according to a news release.

The Chamber is looking to hire a new Chief Executive Officer who will report to the Chairperson of the SCV Chamber Board and Executive Committee.

Per a news release from the Chamber, they are looking for a candidate who will fill the following CEO position:

• Will provide leadership for all of the activities of the organization.
• Able to be the chief spokesperson and advocate of the SCV Chamber, serving as representative to its varied constituencies through the development and management of relationships and the promotion of its policies and activities.
• A proven and successful leader to lead the organization and all its programs while guiding it into the future with integrity, innovation, collaboration, and vision.

Essential duties and responsibilities of the CEO position, include:

• Management and Administration
• Legislative Knowledge
• Membership and Fundraising Abilities

Qualifications the Chamber is looking for in the candidate, include:

• Strong, entrepreneurial and visionary leader with a high level of energy and initiative combined with a sincere sense of dedication to the mission of the organization.
• Will have strong executive presence, exceptional interpersonal skills and highly-developed writing and speaking skills
• Assertive advocate with the ability to serve the current needs of SCV Chamber membership while also identifying trends and issues of significance for the future.
• Highly autonomous and self- motivated with integrity and a strong work ethic. He/she will demonstrate sound judgment, initiative, and an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
• Politically astute and culturally sensitive with the ability to navigate complicated political structures.
• Experienced team leader for whom the ownership of ideas is less important than the result of the collaborative effort.
• Create harmonious relationships, develop quick rapport, and be a person of vision while also being comfortable as a hands-on manager and an enabler of others.

In April 2016, Terri Crain, former Chamber CEO, decided to step down so she and her family can relocate to Texas, said John Musella, a member of the chamber’s board of directors.

With her resignation, the Chamber hired interim President, Jim Bizzelle, former Newhall Land executive.
