Van Hook will be honored at the Santa Clarita Valley International charter school with the “Vision in Education” award.
The dinner will recognize Hook for her contributions to public education and extraordinary vision and dedication in supporting and expanding education opportunities, according to a news release.
“Dr. Van Hook has been a vibrant champion of the kind of work we are doing at SCVi, and she sets an incredible example for our students of what vision, determination and an entrepreneurial spirit can achieve,” said Amber Raskin, co-founder and CEO of iLEAD Schools.

Van Hook has held her position as CEO at the Santa Clarita Community College District since 1988.
Improving college affordability is among Van Hook’s top priorities, according to a statement from SCVi, which enabled College of the Canyons to provide 250 students with their first year of college tuition-free.
“Her selfless, fearless leadership makes her a natural fit for our Vision in Education award, and we couldn’t be more pleased to honor her at our benefit dinner as we celebrate iLEAD Schools’ tenth anniversary,” said Raskin.
The annual benefit dinner — to be held at the SCVi campus — will also celebrate the SCVi campus’ 10th year of operation at the event, according to officials.
SCVi is located at 28060 Hasley Canyon Road in Castaic.
