The Charlie Fire in Castaic has reached 72 percent containment Tuesday morning, according to Angeles National Forest officials.

The fire is confirmed to be held at 3,380 acres, and has not burned outward since Saturday evening, according to officials.
Road closures have been lifted in all areas around the Charlie Fire except for one closure at Lake Hughes Road and Dry Gulch, according to Officer Josh Greengard, a spokesman for the Newhall California Highway Patrol office.
“Tapia Canyon was just opened yesterday night,” Greengard said. “The only thing that is closed is at Lake Hughes Road and Dry Gulch.”
Initial reports of a brush fire in Castaic went out at approximately 2:40 p.m. Saturday in the 31000 block of Charlie Canyon Road, according to Joey Marron, inspector for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

About 20-50 homes were evacuated near Camp 14 on San Francisquito Canyon Road, according to officials.
Two hours after the initial call was made about the fire, flames spread to around 1,000 acres. Helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft and SuperScoopers aided from the air to attack the blaze.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, and remained under investigation Tuesday, according to the Incident Web Information Management system (InciWeb) provided by the United States Forest Service.
