Child Airlifted To Hospital After Nearly Drowning In Sand Canyon Neighborhood

 A two-year-old child was rescued by paramedics after they reportedly drowned at a home on Michael Crest Drive, authorities said.

“We got a call of a two-year-old drowning victim,” said Lt. Aguillara with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “We arrived on scene with LACoFD units.”

Firefighters, paramedics and deputies all responded to the house after the call was received at 6:06 p.m.

The child was found “unconscious but breathing,” Aguillara said. “The patient was transported by airship to a hospital.”

Officials from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived to transport the child to a nearby hospital.

“We flew them out to a children’s hospital,” said Supervising Fire Dispatcher Miguel Ornelas. The helicopter transported the child at 6:28 p.m.

Aguillara described the child as “in serious but stable condition,” and said officials believe the child will live.
