Officials from the Newhall office of the California Highway Patrol are holding a pair of “Impact Teen Driver” classes to help prepare new drivers for the potential dangers of the road.

The seminar will be held at the Newhall CHP office, located at 28648 The Old Road, on June 6 and June 27. The classes will from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
CHP officials ask that a parent accompany their child to the class to “maximize the education” from the experience.

The curriculum for the Start Smart classes covers information on collision statistics, teen driver and passenger behaviors, graduated driver license laws, cultural changes in today’s society and the need for stronger parental involvement in a teenager’s driving experience.
