Last December, the publication Wealth & Finance International released their 2016 Business Awards, and on Tuesday Santa Clarita City Council members recognized KHTS AM-1220 for being named the top community radio station in the state.

KHTS Owners Carl Goldman and Jeri Seratti-Goldman and members of their staff were welcomed to the podium by Mayor Pro Tem Laurene Weste, along with Councilmembers Bob Kellar, Marsha McLean and Bill Miranda, and honored with a certificate.
“KHTS is known for their news, their traffic, and their emergency coverage. But they are also known for creating several key projects that have had a positive impact on our city,” said Weste. “These include the Santa Clarita Disaster Coalition, Annual KHTS Sacramento and DC advocacy trips, their high school football coverage, Home and Garden Show and the Emergency Expo, just to name a few.”
Wealth & Finance International officials stated recipients of the awards “could be a new firm making waves in its industry, an established company raising the bar in its sector or even the announcement of a business’ latest round of results that have seen them surge ahead of the competition.”
Officials added, “All we know is, we recognize something truly special when we see it.”
A statement released by the company read, “The corporate landscape requires great skill and commitment to successfully navigate, and as such, it is a great honor to be able to turn the spotlight on all of our deserving winners. (We) would like to wish them continued success in the future.”
“I tell you one thing — this community when there has been disasters, nothing has kept us better connected than our radio station,” Weste concluded. “Knowing they were out there telling us what’s going on has always been amazing. Thank you very much.”
