With a cast and crew solely comprised of College of the Canyons theatre students, Maureen
Huskey, student director, will be making her directorial debut as she leads the troupe in the production.
“The play eloquently uses tropes of film noir including the loner detective protagonist, a femme fatale, a good girl Friday and a corrupted world of gangsters hiding out in dark alleyways,” said Huskey. “It pays homage to the genre while ultimately having its satiric, comedic way with it.”
Originally produced at the Hollywood Theatre of NOTE, the play is focused on the life of Charlie Nickels, who works as a detective in the “seedy underbelly” of Los Angeles.
Performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 and 17, and Saturday, Nov. 11 and 18; matinees are scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12 and 19.
General admission tickets are $12. Tickets for students and seniors are $6.
