This event is part of the Body Mind Wellness initiative to promote a better life by increasing awareness of the many wellness-related events, groups, and resources available to students and community members at COC, according to their website.
The resource fair will be held on Monday, October 2 from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. at the College of the Canyons Honor Grove.
The Student Nutrition and Wellness Advocates at COC will hold their annual “EveryBODY is Beautiful Fashion Show” at 12:30 p.m. to promote positive body and self-image.
The Body Mind Wellness resource fair will feature over 25 campus groups, local businesses and organizations.
“It is important to make students and community members aware of the many local resources available to help them achieve physical, mental, social, and spiritual wellness,” said Sheri Barke, sports and wellness dietitian at the COC Student Health Center.
There will also be free food and giveaways, as well as music and DJ from your hometown station, KHTS AM-1220.
This fair will be offered every fall semester at College of the Canyons, according to Barke.
The event is free and open to the public and is one of many COC’s Body Mind Wellness events for this fall. A schedule for the fall 2017 events can be found on their website here.
