The “Hit The Trail’ event is being held in celebration of Bike Safety Month and is expected to feature a guided, non-competitive bike ride, a family fun fair with activities and giveaways.
Jersey Mike’s will also be in attendance and offering free sandwiches to those who ride, while supplies last.
The bike ride will be a choice of a full nine-mile route or a shorter four-mile route for those with younger children.
Before going out to ride, the League of American Bicyclist suggests these important bike tips:
- Be sure you have enough air in your tires
- Look to see that your brake pads are not worn
- Pull on your cranks to see that they are not loose and look to see that the chain is not rusted and it is free of gunk
- Make sure all quick releases are closed
- Take a slow brief ride to check that your bike is working properly
