Community business leaders are invited to attend the lunch event, which will feature students from the Saugus Union School District, William S. Hart Union High School District, College of the Canyons and California State University, Northridge.

Guests will then be able to interact with students and observe their skills, as well as participate in some hands-on STEM seminars.

Officials have slowly been able to integrate a kindergarten-through-college STEM program, which offers students access to engage in learning computer networking, engineering, computer science and advanced technologies/manufacturing.

During the lunch, Maria Blue, a teacher and member of the California Science Framework and Evaluation Criteria Committee, will be the keynote speaker of the event. Blue will be there to discuss the utilization of the new Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and how they positively affect and prepare students for studying and working in STEM fields.

The Student STEM Showcase is set to be held on Tuesday, March 7 at 12:30 p.m. at Emblem Academy, located at 22635 Espuella Drive in Saugus.
