Leo Castillo, 53, of Santa Clarita, died after his motorcycle collided with a truck on the northbound side of Sierra Highway, near Sand Canyon Road, officials said.

One patient was treated at the scene and one patient was dead on arrival, said Inspector Randall Wright with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The crash was reported around 7:02 a.m. and emergency crews were on scene by 7:07 a.m.

The road was shut down for about four hours as California Highway Patrol officers investigated the scene.

In a Facebook post, an Agua Dulce resident said her boyfriend was driving the second truck. She said a woman who was driving the first truck, a dually (a truck with two sets of wheels in the rear), ran a red light.

She said the woman struck and killed a man on a motorcycle who was making a legal left-hand turn. She said the woman then collided head-on with her boyfriend’s truck, which she described as a work truck.

  1. How biased are you? Signal. You’re tag line is Motorcyclist collides with truck, when it should read “truck runs red light”. Tell the true story, please.

    • I don’t think the Signal is going to, or should, take a Facebook posting as a fact Jeff. They were merely stating what the post said and will wait for the traffic collision report before drawing conclusions.
