Ricardo Medina, 36, of Green Valley, was arrested after his roommate Joshua Stutter, 36, was found fatally stabbed at the home the two shared.

A spokesman for the D.A.’s Office said prosecutors requested further information from deputies in order to determine whether the situation called for criminal charges.

An argument occurred around 4 p.m. at a house in the 38000 block of San Francisquito Canyon Road, Sheriff’s Department officials said.

Medina fought verbally with Stutter,  and Medina then reportedly retreated to his bedroom with his girlfriend.

Stutter allegedly forced the door open and confronted Medina and his girlfriend, according to initial information released by Sheriff’s Department officials.

Medina then picked up a sword he kept next to the bedroom door and fatally stabbed Stutter once in the abdomen, officials said.

Medina called 911 and stayed at the home.

Stutter was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Medina was interviewed by detectives and then booked at Palmdale Sheriff’s Station on Sunday on a murder charge.

Medina was released Tuesday afternoon.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Medina starred in 2002 as the Red Power Ranger in “Power Rangers Wild Force” and also later acted in “Power Rangers Samurai” among multiple other television shows.

The border between the Santa Clarita and Palmdale sheriff stations’ patrol areas is the L.A. Aqueduct crossover just north of Power House No. 1, putting it north of that point.

“The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead,” according to the sheriff’s statement.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Sheriff Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
