“We’re still looking to determine whether it is accurate,” said Sheriff’s Lt. Leo Bauer, regarding the alleged firework firing.
The blaze burned about ½ an acre, according to officials with Los Angeles County Fire. Firefighters received reports of the fire around 7:17 p.m., and stopped all forward progress by 7:35 p.m.
Sheriff’s deputies have reason to believe two male juveniles were involved, and are actively working to investigate the information.
No structures were damaged, and no injuries were reported.
This is the third brush fire firefighters responded to within two days, the past two being the Pitchess Fire near Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, and the Arline Fire near residences in Canyon Country.
