Since the 1980’s, The Domestic Violence Center has had roots in the Santa Clarita Valley, and is now acknowledging Jeri Seratti-Goldman and Carl Goldman for their support over the years.

Linda Davies, Executive Director at the Domestic Violence Center, said the Goldmans have given abundant help and support to the organization, including how to get their mission across.

“They have been champions of every DVC-SCV fundraising effort,” Davies said. “They’ve always been an outpouring for resources.”

The nonprofit is reaching out as the entity Domestic Violence Center of Santa Clarita Valley before completing its merger and restructuring with The Child & Family Center.

Davies said the new name of merged nonprofit organization will be called The Domestic Violence Services of the Child & Family Center.

Sue Reynolds, the immediate past president of the DVC board of directors, said she and Davies will be moving into the merged board of directors once everything is finalized.

“We’re looking forward to an even greater community support and awareness,” Reynolds said.

The merger is a direct result of funding from the Nonprofit Sustainability Initiative. The two organizations to merge received a total of $70,000 to complete the merging process.

Davies said the Domestic Violence Center initially won a $40,000 grant to hire a consultant to determine whether a merger was a good idea. Another grant of $30,000 was given to fulfill the actual merging process.
