Dr. Thomas Polucki Makes Donation To Nonprofit ‘Help The Children’

Polucki filled up an entire crate supplied by Help the Children.

“My patients were bringing in organic stuff, name brand stuff,” said Polucki. “I’m always surprised by how much people are willing to do for people they don’t know.”

In 2016, Polucki donated 110 food items and 12 personal care items to the nonprofit.

Donating to a multitude of nonprofits year round, Polucki explained he’s focused on raising money for Las Vegas shooting victims after losing his friend, John Phippen, to the violence.

“Contribution is the cure to all the social imbalances in our life,” Polucki said. “In order for me to grow as a person, contribution is a big part of that.”

Donations like those made by Polucki are the largest resource the nonprofit has.

“We rely solely on community donations and grants,” said Help the Children Director Michael Santomauro in a previous article. “Anything will help us continue assisting families in the Santa Clarita Valley.”

Based in Santa Clarita, Help The Children distributes food to outreach centers around the valley, including churches, senior citizen facilities and recovery programs.

Last year the nonprofit provided 1.7 million pounds of bulk food each month and over 35 tons of food each workday to those in need, according to their website.

“Help the Children’s mission is to increase self sufficiency by providing food, clothing, personal care items and medical supplies without regard to political affiliation, religious belief, or ethnic identity,” the website states.
