Watching the “Jaws of Life” cut through a car door, experiencing an earthquake in the Shakey-Quakey House and climbing around a fire truck are all fun options for all ages at Central Park.

The Shakey-Quakey School House is a trailer-mounted simulator designed to look and feel like a schoolhouse inside, with real desks and a chalkboard.

Guest for the free Emergency Expo and Home and Garden Show are also invited to explore life-saving vehicles used by the SCV’s first responders, so one can climb through a “quint,” or find out how to make a patrol car “roll Code 3” (lights and sirens).

The family from Gilchrist Farm  and their Petting Zoo will also be on hand, as one of the more popular interactive exhibits.

And also for the animal lovers, Because We Can, Because We Care (BWC2) is also scheduled to offer an interactive exhibit for guests. The equine therapy program helps rehabilitate veterans battling PTSD, as well as other trauma. BWC2 is bringing a few of its horses to the event at Santa Clarita Central Park.

The eighth annual 2017 KHTS Home and Garden Show also offers those interested in the “civilian sector.”

The combined shows will feature over five hundred booths. Most vendors are Santa Clarita businesses involved in our valley for many years. They have a commitment to making certain you get the best possible advice and guidance.

There are also more than a dozen food trucks expected on site.

  1. Yes, I’ve always bemoaned Santa Clarita’s lack of an emergency petting zoo.
