DaAnne Smith’s decision to retire will bring to a close a tenure that took Single Mothers Outreach from the brink of closure to a thriving organization, considered one of the leading nonprofits in the Santa Clarita Valley, according to a news release.
“DaAnne Smith has been an extraordinary leader who has managed the charity through challenging times and major transitions,” said Martin Rodriguez, chairman of the board. “The board is grateful for her innumerable contributions to the organization and her distinguished tenure over the last eight years.”
Smith said she has been “privileged” to lead one of the Santa Clarita Valley’s “great community organizations.”
“I have carried the sometimes great but always fulfilling burden of caring for the diverse needs of the single parent and restoring Single Mothers Outreach to a healthy and respected Santa Clarita nonprofit,” said Smith. “Our board of directors and staff are stronger than ever and poised to take the organization to the next level in their passionate and determined quest to fulfill our organization’s most noble goals and mission. I am proud to leave the organization in a place of strength.”
